Same-Day Emergency Dental Care
When it comes to taking care of an emergency, no matter what kind it is, time is always of the essence. Dental emergencies can occur at any time and without any warning. Below are a few examples of tpical dental emergencies:
- Tooth pain
- Broken or chipped teeth
- Knocked-outtooth
- Something caught in your teeth
- Partially dislodged tooth
- Lost or loose filling or crown
- Abscessed tooth
- Swelling
If left untreated, more complicated problems may arise, so it’s important to nip everything in the bud the first time.
Emergency Dental Care for the Kiddos
When it comes to the health of your kids’ smile, corners mustn’t ever be cut. They need a strong foundation for healthy teeth to grow and stay strong. Children often encounter dental emergencies, and we’ll happily see your child when problems arise. Knocked out teeth, broken teeth and even baby teeth deserve attention and the gentle care that we can provide.
It’s important to remember that what your children eat affects their teeth. Sugar is everywhere, especially in cake, cookies, candy, milk and juice. Starches, found in pretzels and potato chips, can cause tooth decay. Add to this fact that it is more difficult to clean babies’ and children’s teeth and you can see why debris tends to remain in children’s teeth, resulting in bacteria growth and, ultimately, tooth decay.
We’ll take care of your kids as if they were our own. Special care demands a dental team that’s flexible and offers the gentlest care for your young one(s).

Painless Root Canal Therapy in Rockledge, FL
April 3, 2015
What are two words that strike fear into the hearts of thousands of Americans? Those two words are “root canal.” This procedure is infamously known for being incredibly painful, which is why there is such a stigma regarding the term. With advancements in dental technology, and the masterful dental prowess of our dentists, root canal therapy is actually painless. The procedure is straightforward and promotes a healthy mouth. Premier Walk-in Dental provides the most seamless, professional root canal therapy for those with infected teeth.
Why Do I Need a Root Canal?
Root canal therapy is necessary when a tooth, or more specifically the inside of the tooth, becomes infected or inflamed. The inside of the tooth is known as the pulp, and it contains nerves, blood vessels, and roots. When the pulp becomes infected or inflamed, it begins to cause extreme, throbbing pain. If it’s not treated, the infection may spread, swelling can increase, bone loss can occur, and decay can eat through the inside of the tooth. With a root canal, the infected pulp is removed from the tooth and the area is disinfected, leaving a healthy tooth intact.
Tell Me about the Procedure
After we determine if a root canal is necessary, we will take a digital X-ray to determine the area of the infection. When we begin the procedure, we will use a local anesthesia to numb the area around the tooth. We will also surround the tooth with a rubber dam to keep everything dry and free of saliva. We will drill a small hole into the tooth. We will begin to remove the infected pulp via a series of small files. Water and sodium hypochlorite is used to flush away the remaining debris. The tooth is completely disinfected and the hole is resealed with a filling. If any other restoration is needed, we will fix the necessary parts of the tooth (i.e. crowns).
I Think I May Need This Therapy
If you feel excruciating pain in your tooth, please allow our professionals to take care of the problem and restore your tooth to proper form. Call our friendly staff and schedule your appointment. We welcome all patients that reside in Rockledge, FL, Cocoa, Satellite Beach, Merritt Island, Viera, Suntree, Melbourne, Palm Bay, and the surrounding communities.
Fast and Efficient Dentures Repair, Adjustment, and Replacement in Rockledge, FL

Every few years, a new set of dentures are a necessary investment in both your good dental health and self-esteem. Premier Walk-In Dental delivers quality care daily throughout Rockledge, FL, Cocoa, Satellite Beach, Merritt Island, Viera, to Suntree, Melbourne, Palm Bay, and the surrounding communities.
We Offer New Full and Partial Dentures
- Partial Dentures: Partial dentures can be used to replace groups of teeth or a few teeth scattered across the lower or upper jaw. All partial dentures are secured by the remaining teeth and have a gum-colored portion that blends with your existing gum line, with prosthetic teeth attached.
- Full Dentures: Full dentures are similar to partial dentures in that they consist of prosthetic teeth and gums. The main difference is that full dentures are a total replacement system for either upper or lower teeth and, in some cases, both.
Do You Have Ill-Fitting or Broken Dentures?
We offer a comprehensive range of denture fabrication, repair, and adjustment, including:
- New complete full or partial dentures
- Repairs of cracked or fractured dentures

Get Your Oral Cancer Screening Today at Premier Walk In Dental
February 17, 2015
More than 43,000 Americans will be diagnosed with oral cancer this year. That’s approximately one person per hour, every hour, for the entire year. The oral cancer mortality rate is particularly high due to the cancer being routinely discovered late in its development. While dentists routinely screen for oral cancer each time you get a dental checkup, often, the patients most at risk for developing the disease don’t see a dentist on a regular basis. Don’t jeopardize your health by skipping the dental checkup you need to stay healthy. Make an appointment with Dr. Nichols and Dr. Collins at Premier Walk-In Dental today. Premier Walk-In Dental delivers quality care daily throughout Rockledge, FL, Cocoa, Satellite Beach, Merritt Island, Viera, to Suntree, Melbourne, Palm Bay, and the surrounding communities.
What Causes Oral Cancer?
While anyone can develop oral cancer, some factors may increase your likelihood. Anything that increases your risk of getting a disease is called a risk factor, but having a risk factor does not mean that you will get cancer. The most common risk factors for oral cancer include:
- Gender: Oral cancer is twice as common in men as in women.
- Age: The average age at diagnosis for oral cancer is 62, and 2/3 of individuals with this disease are over age 55.
- Sunlight: Cancers of the lip are more common among people who work outdoors or others with prolonged exposure to sunlight.
- Genetics: Some inherited genetic mutations, which cause different syndromes in the body, carry a high risk of oral cancer.
- Tobacco use: About 80% of people with oral cancers use tobacco in the form of cigarettes, chewing tobacco or snuff.
- Alcohol: About 70% of people diagnosed with oral cancer are heavy drinkers.
- Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection: There is a strong link between HPV-16 and oral cancer. People with oral cancer linked to HPV tend to not be smokers or drinkers.
What Are The Symptoms of Oral Cancer?
If you are experiencing any of the following oral cancer symptoms, you should make an immediate appointment for an oral cancer screening:
- A white or red patch on the gums, tongue, tonsil, or lining of the mouth
- Difficulty swallowing or chewing
- Difficulty moving the jaw or tongue
- Numbness anywhere in the mouth
- Jaw pain or swelling
- Loosened teeth
- Voice changes
- Sudden unexplained weight loss
- Persistent bad breath
- A sore in the mouth that does not heal after two weeks
- Persistent mouth pain
- A lump or thickening in the cheek
- A sore throat or feeling that something is caught in the throat
